Dr Evelyn Townsell

     Dr. Evelyn Townsell earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis in 2005. Following veterinary school, she completed a rigorous internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, where she gained experience in emergency and specialty medicine and met her husband, Jonathan.

     As Medical Director of Redding Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Townsell is passionate about elevating the standard of veterinary medicine available to families throughout Northern California. Her vision is to bring advanced diagnostics, modern treatment options, and exceptional patient care to the North State while preserving the personal relationships and community-focused values that define a hometown veterinary practice.

     Under her leadership, Redding Veterinary Clinic has continued to expand its services, invest in new technologies, and collaborate with specialists to provide a higher level of care close to home. Dr. Townsell believes that pet owners in our community should not have to travel long distances to access outstanding veterinary medicine, and she is committed to continually growing the hospital's capabilities to meet that need.

     A Southern California native, Dr. Townsell moved to Redding in 2015 to raise her two daughters amidst the beauty and outdoor opportunities of Northern California. She is deeply invested in the community she serves and is dedicated to giving back through education, mentorship, and compassionate care for both pets and the people who love them.

When she is not at the hospital, Dr. Townsell enjoys life with her lively household of animals, which includes dogs, cats, rabbits, an African grey parrot, a three-legged mud turtle, and a flock of chickens.
